【演講摘要】

Quantum theory—a theory of physics formulated nearly a century ago—is one of the two pillars of modern physics. It is now evident from ongoing research in quantum information science that instead of nuisances, unintuitive quantum features should be seen as a resource, as they offer fundamentally novel opportunities for one to process information, including the possibility to perform provably secure communication and the possibility to perform computation with tremendous speedup. In this talk, we will give a short introduction on the basic principle of quantum computation and quantum devices. We will then give an overview of the research grant geared towards quantum technologies, including (I) Theoretical platform for quantum devices and quantum computation; (II) CMOS-compatible superconductor/semiconductor hybrid quantum devices.
